Amplify is now recruiting for new members for the 2026-27 academic year! 

What is Amplify?

Amplify is the youth board for Lancashire Music Hub, amplifying the voices of young people across the county to shape the future of music education in the county.  Amplify ensures that youth voice is represented at a strategic level of the hub to influence future decision making and planning.

Lancashire Music Hub is a network of organisations working across all schools and colleges in Lancashire and Blackpool to ensure all children and young people in the county have access to music making and learning that’s right for them.

Who are Amplify?

Amplify are a group of young people aged 14-18 years old from across Lancashire and Blackpool, bringing together a wide range of music education experience and talents, working with music leaders Jay Hall, Rachel Hughes (Lancashire Music Service) and Darren Leadsom (More Music). It’s free to join, you’ll make new friends and taking part will be a great addition to your university/college application’s personal statement.

What does Amplify do?

Amplify is all about young people advocating for young people and music education in Lancashire and Blackpool. Each session will be a creative opportunity to collaborate as a group to find out and share what young people want from music education, what works well and what the challenges are.

How you do it is up to you all as a group. It could involve creating videos and online content, organising events for young people, meeting professionals from all corners of the music industry and much more.  In recent years, Amplify has been part of national conferences, organised events across Lancashire and made videos and music to share the views of young people.

When and where do Amplify meet?

This academic year, there will be six in-person sessions at County Hall in Preston on Tuesdays from 4.45pm-6.15pm (arrival from 4.30pm), and six online sessions on Wednesdays from 5pm-6pm. A full list of dates can be found below. Refreshments will be provided for County Hall sessions.
