Why support us?

Music means something to all of us – it is part of and enriches our daily lives. We firmly believe that all children and young people should be able to access musical education, regardless of their individual circumstances or background.

We provide financial assistance to help the young people of Lancashire achieve their musical potential, supporting those who don’t qualify for financial assistance under existing schemes. We support students at any stage of their musical journey, ensuring that cost is not a barrier to progression and ambition.

Your support will enable young musicians in Lancashire to:

  • access high quality instrumental and vocal lessons
  • attend ensembles, masterclasses and workshops, including County Ensembles
  • purchase or hire an instrument
  • help fund exam entries and auditions
  • take part in concerts, residential courses and music tours

Make a donation

We have made donating as easy as possible – online donations are made through the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), ensuring that all transactions are secure.

You can make a one-off donation or create a regular payment.

Clicking on DONATE NOW will take you to our donation page on CAF.

About FLCE

The Friends of Lancashire County Ensembles is a registered charity whose objective is to advance the musical education of children and young people resident in Lancashire. The charity grew out of the previous Friends Charities for the Lancashire Youth Orchestra and Concert Band.

The board is made up of alumni, professional musicians, parents, teachers, and a representative from the Music Service.

All trustees value the effect that music has had on their lives and on their children’s lives and uphold the belief that music education shouldn’t be the preserve of those who can afford it. It is these values that led to the development of the Lancashire Young Musicians’ fund, along with the recognition of the importance of ensemble activities in music education.

The charity is linked to Lancashire Music Service and together, we know we can help to enrich lives through music for many years to come.

Our constitution and related documents can be found on the Charities commission website.
