Following the success of last year’s first Jazz Camp, the project is back for 2 days this year. An unforgettable first experience of improvisation and playing in a band to develop musical curiosity and confidence for girls aged between 9 and 15.  Six inspirational workshops are taking place on the same day across the north of England and they will enable girls to flourish under the mentorship of female role models.

We welcome any instrument and vocalists and all ability levels – we recommend you have been learning for at least a year to get the most out of the workshop.  Jazz Camp for Girls is a gender-positive space, this means we welcome all girls, including those who don’t fit stereotypes.

Jazz Camp for Girls is inspired by an original project created by JazzDanmark and Copenhagen Jazz Festival to address the gender imbalance in jazz.

A limited number of full bursaries are available. To request a bursary email jcfg@jazznorth.org
