Calling all young musicians – Lancashire Youth Folk Ensemble (LYFE) is running an open rehearsal!
LYFE is a friendly and welcoming gathering of young musicians and we are looking for new members to join us this year for rehearsals and performances. Whether you are an interested beginner or have plenty of experience with traditional music, we encourage you to come along.
Led by renowned fiddle player Mikey Kenney, we aim to highlight Lancashire’s musical heritage working with talented young folk musicians while also providing a gateway for newcomers to come and learn more about traditional music.
We are especially keen to hear from musicians who play instruments rooted in the folk tradition; ie. Fiddle / violin, flute, whistle, guitar, mandolin, banjo etc. Though all are welcome and there are plenty of singing opportunities too.
We welcome players from age 10 – 18 and recommend you have some experience on your instrument to get the most out of this activity.
