A special, one off opportunity to explore this fantastic resource with composer, pianist and Head of Graduate Studies at RNCM, Dr David Horne and Sound and Music’s Head of Education, Judith Robinson.
Listen Imagine Compose is a long-term initiative that explores how composing is taught and learned in secondary schools. It is a partnership between Sound and Music, Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and Birmingham City University; the Lead Academic is Professor Martin Fautley. Since 2010, we have undertaken research, held conferences and delivered CPD for secondary music teachers.
During the session, you will have the opportunity to find out more about the Listen Imagine Compose project, practically explore some creative strategies for composing and reflect on your own practice as teachers of composition.
