Percussive Beats “Beginners Edition” Percussion group · 4.10pm- 4.30pm
Ideal for younger pupils who may have no, or limited experience for playing an instrument, our “Beginners Edition” Percussion group will teach your young Musician the basics of playing together as a group working on developing Pulse and rhythm and enhancing listening skills, preparing them for our more advanced ensembles.
No experience or instruments necessary!
Percussive Beats Percussion group · 4.30pm- 5pm
Tailored for those who already play any instrument, our amazing Percussion ensemble features a wide range of different percussion instruments, including orchestral
Led by our fantastic Percussion teacher, Trevor Bartlett, this group is a must for all aspiring musicians to hone their Rhythm and ensemble skills.
Students will be able to borrow a Glockenspiel pack to take home to use in Practice, which must then be brought to each session.
Preston Young Voices Vocal group · 4.00pm- 4.30pm
Come and join our fantastic Choir! under the direction of Rachel Hughes, the choir learns songs from a wide variety of genres and members are be encouraged to help choose repertoire that they enjoy.
Suitable for KS2/3/4/5.
Ensemble for All (Orchestra) · 4.50pm – 5.35pm
Directed by Mark Waltho our inclusive orchestra is open to all instruments and levels, from early beginners to more advanced players.
Playing a wide variety of music, learning to play with others is a vital skill for any young musician to develop and this ensemble is the ideal place for your child to start their orchestral playing journey.
Band for All · 5.40pm – 6.25pm
Directed by Sam French, this is an inclusive group for ALL instruments, from early beginners up to more advanced levels. With a popular music focus the group uses both written notation and learning repertoire by ear.
A great way to make music with other young people and have fun in an innovative and exciting band.
New members are always welcome to come along and visit the group. We ask that children have their own instruments (hire available) and have already started lessons, in any setting.
Ukulele group · 5.15pm – 5.45pm *This group is currently on hold*
Open to complete beginners and to those who can already play, our exciting and fun Ukulele group is the ideal way to play your instrument with others. We even have instruments we can lend you if you don’t have your own!
Beat Lab · 4.00pm – 4.30pm
Beat Lab is an exciting new edition to our ensemble offer! Using the amazing technology of Ableton Moves, pupils will learn how to create, compose and work as an ensemble using music tech.
Led by our inspirational Tech pioneer David Shooter, this is an absolute must for our aspiring creatives.
*Please note, this group is strictly limited to 6 pupils per session*
Crossbows Preston · 6.00pm – 6.30pm
Led by our fantastic Strings Tutor Bernice Zieba, “Crossbows Preston” is an exciting and fun String ensemble for bowed string players (violin, viola, cello, double bass) of all abilities playing a wide range of repertoire.
Joining ensembles and groups at Music Centre costs just £30 per term with our Silver Subscription, which includes membership of as many groups as you like, including our Inspire groups! Costs are kept low as they’re subsidised by our Music Education Hub grant.
