Lancashire Youth Folk Ensemble

Lancashire Youth Folk Ensemble welcomes young instrumentalists and singers interested in exploring folk tunes from all over the UK with a focus on music from the communities of Lancashire.

The Lancashire Youth Folk Ensemble is a regular gathering of young musicians who share a passion for playing, arranging and researching traditional music – particularly music sourced from across our historic County of Lancashire.

We aim to highlight Lancashire’s musical heritage with an ensemble of the County’s talented young folk musicians while also providing a gateway for newcomers to come and learn more about traditional music.

Whether you are an interested beginner or have plenty of experience with traditional music, we’d be very keen to hear from you!

We are especially keen to hear from musicians who play instruments rooted in the folk tradition (fiddle/violin, flute, whistle, guitar, mandolin, banjo etc.) though all are welcome and there are plenty of singing opportunities during our rehearsals and performances too.
