We’re delighted to announce the first live session for the Lancashire Youth Folk Group will take place on Saturday 22nd January from 10am – 3.30pm at Penwortham Girls High School, Cop Lane, Penwortham, Preston PR1 0SR.
All young instrumentalists and singers are welcome to join us.
We welcome any instrument or voice type. To get the most out of this opportunity we recommend you have reached at least an intermediate level on your instrument/voice, but previous folk experience is not essential and nor is the ability to read notation.
Following this first session, we are going to alternate venues between Preston and Lancaster Central Library and there is a special event at Astley Hall, Chorley on Saturday 19th February.
22nd Jan – Penwortham Girls School, Preston
5th Feb – Lancaster Library, LA1 1HY
19th Feb – Event at Astley Hall
5th March – Lancaster Library
19th March – Penwortham Girls School, Preston
The first session is offered free of charge but membership of the folk group is included with our Silver Level Subscription which costs £75 per year (£25 payable termly). If you already attend any of our Music Centres or County Ensembles you will already have a subscription and can join the folk group for no extra cost.
You can contact the folk group leader, Nic Beazley, directly with any queries at lancsfolkensemble@gmail.com
