National Youth Jazz Orchestra Regional Academy 2019/20

Are you a young musician interested in developing your skills in jazz and improvised music? New members are welcome at our Lancashire NYJO Regional Academy sessions taking place throughout the year in Preston.

Come and work alongside some of the UKs finest jazz musicians including Academy leader, Joe Browne (encoremusicians.com/Joe-Browne), NYJO Ambassadors and Lancashire Music Hub tutors. The sessions will mainly focus on small band and improvisation skills, complementing the excellent county jazz orchestra opportunities we have in the county.

Sessions are taking place on:

 Sunday 26th January, 10am – 4pm

Sunday 15th March, 10am – 4pm

Sunday 3rd May, 10am – 4pm

Sunday 21st June, 10am – 4pm

Residential weekend 10-12th July, Venue TBC

The Lancashire NYJO Academy aims to cater for both intermediate and more advanced musicians and we welcome any instrument (including voice). You will need to be aged 18 or under and, to get the most out of this opportunity, we would recommend you are a minimum of grade 3/4 standard on your instrument (this is only a guide and recognise that many musicians don’t take formal exams).

As a new project, the sessions are currently offered FREE of charge.
