Band members from the Lanacashire Youth Streetband ‘HONK’ were among 23 participants of Orkestra del Sol’s Drums ‘n’ Brass workshop on Sunday 12 November 2017 at More Music in Morecambe. Orkestra del Sol are one of the UK’s most acclaimed and popular streetbands, with a unique mix of anarchic humour, wildly skilful musical arrangements and a roguish sense of theatre.
The workshop participants included brass players and percussionists, who learned a piece from the band’s first album during the session. They performed the piece alongside members of Orkestra del Sol at their gig at More Music that evening in front of an audience of over 70 people.
