Vocal Jam with LYVE!

During lockdown LYVE  (Lancashire Youth Vocal Ensemble) have continued to meet online over zoom with Vocal Jam sessions and continued making music in a variety of new and different styles.

LYVE are running weekly sessions for those who what to sing, write, harmonise or use your voice creatively. The sessions, run by vocal leaders Ash Murphy and Emma Williams, are relaxed, fun and designed to be accessible for any level of vocal experience, focusing on music from different styles, bringing together a cappella harmony singing, beatboxing, rapping and original songwriting.

LYVE Leader Emma Williams said:

“LYVE is an a Capella choir that has been around for a number of years now. Obviously we haven’t been able to meet in person to rehearse in traditional way so we have created this online session so that singers can get involved with vocalising and developing their skills in number of ways from singing songs from lots of different styles, learning how to beatbox, writing and developing lyrics and also sharing our favourite tunes. It’s really relaxed and our singers and beat boxers aged between 14-21 join us from around the region.”

There is no experience required to join the online sessions and young people are welcome to join at any point. Its an opportunity to meet other like minded young people. Sessions run every Wednesday 6-7pm, they are free and for 14-21 year olds. Email  info@moremusic.org.uk and you will be provided with a zoom invite via email.
