Lancashire Mobile Music Vehicle collage

Bringing Music to Your School with our Mobile Music Vehicle.

Discover the Joy of Music Education

At Lancashire Music Service, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy and benefits of music education. Our new mobile music vehicle is designed to bring high-quality music sessions and experiences directly to your school, no matter where you are.

All sessions below are run by an LMS Teacher and are open to all children and young people.

Instrument Discovery – traditional and modern musical instruments for young people to try including our range of plastic instruments

Sound Yard – using keyboards, ukuleles and music technology to learn songs, compose and improvise. Guided performances and freedom to create

Rhythm Makers – create funky beats on board the Mobile Music Vehicle

Woodwind Explorers – try out a range of woodwind instruments (Fridays)

Brass Explorers – try out a range of brass and pBrass plastic instruments (Mondays and Tuesdays)

Early Years – sessions tailored to younger children to explore instruments and engage in songs and musical activities for children under 5 years old (Tuesdays)

Weekday sessions are presented from 9am till 3pm (with an interval between 12pm and 1pm).

Weekend sessions also available as required by prior arrangement, but usually for 5 hours delivery.

Alternative times and offerings are available on application.

Please note – ALL bookings are treated as pending reservations subject to LMS Teacher availability. Where no teacher is available on your chosen date then it will be necessary to cancel your booking and we will notify you as soon as possible.

Operating Information/Requirements

  • The Mobile Music Vehicle can only be parked on private land and not on any public highway unless you have obtained the necessary permission in writing from your local authority.
  • Access of minimum 2.7 metres e.g. entrance on to site via school gate, roadway, etc (roughly the size of a fire engine for context).
  • A level, non-sloping hard standing surface of 13 metres by 5 metres (e.g. a playground, car park, etc).
  • 13amp electrical supply (please advise if this is not possible).
  • Circa 45 minutes set up and dismantle time required before/after event starts and finishes.

The maximum internal working/teaching area is 4.2 metres by 3.1 metres and we estimate it can occupy a maximum of 8-10 ‘infant’ size school children at any one time, dependant on equipment also being used for the sessions.

The vehicle is also fitted with a welfare lift to offer access to individuals who experience mobility issues.
