Our Music Hub Youth Board, Amplify, are working with the National Festival of Music for Youth and London’s Tri Borough Music Hub to host a prestigious Citizen’s Assembly which will bring together young people with representatives from the music industry, education, and policy makers to debate the future of music education.

Five young bands took part in the very first Preston Schools’ Gig Night at the Boatyard, the events space at The Continental. To a packed audience of classmates, teachers, family and friends, young musicians performed an eclectic mix of music from Metallica to Nancy Sinatra.

In July 2022, Amplify welcomed 12 new young board members ages between 14 and 19 from across Lancashire, all with different musical experiences and interests. This board will be taking the Amplify programme this year, planning events and campaigns to raise the profile of music in the county and making sure opportunities are relevant and accessible.
